Working as a Flight Attendant

Flight attendants work for airlines and work on planes where their main tasks are to ensure the safety of all passengers, to ensure that they comply with all flight rules and regulations and that the flight deck is safe. Flight attendants also try to make flights comfortable and stress-free for passengers as unfortunately sometimes they have to deal with passengers who engage in disruptive behaviour, such as loud music, aggressive or inappropriate behaviour.

Furthermore flight attendants must ensure that the emergency equipment works, that the cabin is clean and that there is sufficient food and drink on board. The captain and pilot will conduct a briefing for the flight attendants containing relevant flight information. Flight attendants welcome all passengers on board the aircraft and provide assistance if necessary. Before the plane takes off, a flight attendant demonstrates the safety of the cockpit and the air traffic control system to the passengers.  This includes ensuring that the seat belts are buckled, the seats are buckled locked in an upright position, and that all items are properly stowed away.
